Our previous study demonstrated an increase in alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methylisoxazole-4-propionate (AMPA) receptor sensitivity in the rostral ventromedial medulla (RVM) associated with enhanced net descending inhibition after inflammatory hyperalgesia.
