The Maximum Entropy Principle (MEP) is a method that can be used to infer the value of an unknown quantity in a set of probability functions. In this work we review two applications of MEP: one giving a precise inference of the Higgs boson mass value; and the other one allowing to infer the mass of the axion. In particular, for the axion we assume that it has a decay channel into pairs of neutrinos, in addition to the decay into two photons. The Shannon entropy associated to an initial ensemble…

Maximum Entropy Inferences on the Axion Mass in Models with Axion-Neutrino Interaction

In this work, we use the maximum entropy principle (MEP) to infer the mass of an axion which interacts to photons and neutrinos in an effective low energy theory. The Shannon entropy function to be

Combined Measurement of the Higgs Boson Mass in pp Collisions at sqrt[s]=7 and 8 TeV with the ATLAS and CMS Experiments.

A measurement of the Higgs boson mass is presented based on the combined data samples of the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the CERN LHC in the H→γγ and H→ZZ→4ℓ decay channels. The results are obtained

On the (Gaussian) maximum at a mass m_H~125 GeV of the product of decay probabilities of the Standard Model Higgs boson

The product of the branching ratios of the standard model (SM) Higgs boson in all decay channels available below the top-antitop threshold is observed to be a Gaussian distribution of the Higgs boson

Unified models of neutrinos, flavour and CP Violation

Neutrino and axion bounds from the globular cluster M5 (NGC 5904).

High-precision photometry is provided for the Galactic globular cluster M5 (NGC 5904), allowing for a detailed comparison between the observed tip of the RGB with predictions based on contemporary stellar evolution theory.

Planck 2015 results - XIII. Cosmological parameters

This paper presents cosmological results based on full-mission Planck observations of temperature and polarization anisotropies of the cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation. Our results are in

A Mathematical Theory of Communication

It is proved that the authors can get some positive data rate that has the same small error probability and also there is an upper bound of the data rate, which means they cannot achieve the data rates with any encoding scheme that has small enough error probability over the upper bound.

Working Group Report: Higgs Boson

This report summarizes the work of the Energy Frontier Higgs Boson working group of the 2013 Community Summer Study (Snowmass). We identify the key elements of a precision Higgs physics program and
