}In this study, we have investigated the anti-inflammatory effects of imperatorin, a compound isolated from the roots of Glehnia littoralis, using a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated mouse macrophage (RAW264.7) in vitro and a carrageenan (Carr)-induced mouse paw edema model in vivo. When RAW264.7 macrophages were treated with imperatorin together with LPS, a significant concentration-dependent inhibition of NO production was detected. Western blotting revealed that imperatorin blocked the…

It is found that imperatorin exerts anti-inflammatory effects that are associated with amelioration of lung inflammation, edema, and rapid fibrosis, and studies on alveolar macrophages reveal that Imperatorin reduced the production of pro-inflammatory mediators and cytokines and inhibited pro- inflammatory JAK1/STAT3 and NF-κB signaling pathways.

The pure HEO isolated from the dried Hippocampus trimaculatus leach was firstly found to have anti-inflammatory activity in vitro, and cellular signaling analyses demonstrated that the HEO downregulated the NF-κB and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) of mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPK) signaling pathways.

Anti-inflammatory, antinociceptive and immunomodulatory effects of braylin are shown for the first time, which possibly act through the glucocorticoid receptor activation and by inhibition of the transcriptional activity of NF-κB.
