We have previously reported that DNA-lipid conjugates, when inserted into lipid vesicles, can mediate interactions between vesicles such as docking and fusion∗. These DNA-mediated interactions are a model for the biological machinery (SNARE proteins) employed in synaptic vesicle fusion.
