The process of blood vessels formation and remodeling is highly regulated by a plethora of promoting and inhibiting signals that activate a large array of signaling cascades. The main molecular players of these signaling pathways are surface-localized receptors, which can transmit signals into the cytosol. Endocytosis and intracellular trafficking, by controlling protein receptor localization, distribution, and amount in space and time, can strongly impact on cell signaling outcomes.
