Adrenomedullin has a potent vasodilating effect comparable to that of calcitonin gene-related peptide. To investigate the pathophysiologic role of endogenous adrenomedullin, we determined sequentially the plasma adrenomedullin level in 15 consecutive patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI).
