OBJECTIVES The endothelium modulates vascular contractions. We investigated the effects of oxidative stress on endothelial modulation of contractions in hypertension. METHODS Changes in isometric tension of femoral arterial rings from spontaneously hypertensive (SHR) and Wistar-Kyoto (WKY) rats were recorded.
