I discuss the impact of color-octet contributions to inclusive $J/\psi$ photoproduction at HERA. Emphasis is put on resolved photon processes and on $J/\psi$ polarization, which will be experimentally accessible at HERA in the near future. Both analyses provide a powerful test of the NRQCD factorization approach to charmonium production.

Monte Carlo Implementations of Diffraction at HERA

The Monte Carlo implementation of different approaches for diffractive scattering in $e - p$ collisions (resolved $\PO$, pQCD, soft color interactions) is described, with emphasis on the construction

Physics at HERA

HERA is the first electron-proton colliding beam facility and the big news about it is that it works, despite concerns both about the reproducibility of the magnetic field in the proton ring magnets
