Three years after isthmusectomy for Hürthle-cell carcinoma, a 52-year-old female presented with multiple nodules in the remaining thyroid. After completion thyroidectomy that revealed no thyroid carcinoma, she underwent a combined positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scan with [F]fluorodeoxyglucose (F FDG) before radioactive iodine ablation of residual thyroid tissue.
