Abstract A radioactive soluble model protein for studies of protein digestion, absorption and amino acid (AA) metabolism in larval fish was successfully produced in Atlantic salmon by oral administration of uniformly [U]- 14 C-labelled amino acids followed by blood sample withdrawal (48 h post-administration) and purification.
