The ability of N-methyldithiocarbamate (NMDC) to generate methylisothiocyanate and HS(-) together with its greater acid stability suggest that NMDC may exert greater acute toxicity following oral exposure than its dialkyl analog,N,N-dimethyldithiocarbamate (DMDC).
