Consumption of mustard oil contaminated with argemone oil is well known to cause clinical manifestation referred to as "Epidemic Dropsy". Our prior studies have shown that argemone oil produces genotoxic effects in mice [Ansari, K.M., et al., 2004. Int. J. Cancer 112, 890].
