Some in vitro tests were performed using 1,3-dithia-2-thioxo-cyclopent-4-ene (DT827A) to evaluate its mode of action on hepatoprotection. Experiments with leucine, uridine and thymidine uptakes using L-132 cells showed no increase in leucine uptake, but did show a tendency toward increases in both uridine and thymidine uptakes, which suggested a stimulating effect on RNA and DNA synthesis in vitro. DT827A did not influence GSH levels in the HepG2 cultured cell system, and did not show…

Studies on the protective effects of caffeic acid and quercetin on chemical-induced hepatotoxicity in rodents.

ANTIOXIDANT AND HEPATOPROTECTIVE ACTIVITIES OF VERNONIA CINEREA EXTRACT AGAINST CCL4 INDUCED HEPATOTOXICITY IN ALBINO RATS Research Article

The present results suggest that the plant can act as hepatoprotective against CCl4 toxicity and that the mechanism by which they exert hepatoprotsection modulating antioxidant status is unknown.

Effect of Aerva lanata against hepatotoxicity of carbon tetrachloride in rats.

Dose response effect of rutin a dietary antioxidant on alcohol‐induced prooxidant and antioxidant imbalance – a histopathologic study

Rutin supplementation along with ethanol significantly decreased the levels of liver marker enzymes, lipid peroxidation and significantly elevated the activities of liver SOD, CAT, GSH, glutathione peroxidase, vitamins C and E when compared to untreated ethanol supplemented rats.

Protective and Anti-oxidant Activity of the Euryops arabicus against Paracetamol Induced Hepatorenal Toxicity in Rats

The results suggest that Euryops arabicus may protect from paracetamol-induced liver and kidney toxicity, and the elevated TBARS in groups received par acetamol alone decreased in groups given paracet amol and Euryopicus.

The protection of Thymus vulgaris leaves alcoholic extract against hepatotoxicity of alcohol in rats.

Effect of 1,3-dithia-2-thioxo-cyclopent-4-ene and its derivatives on liver injury induced by carbon tetrachloride and orotic acid in rats.

A hepatoprotective potential of theDT827 series compounds was suggested under the conditions of these studies, and DT827B was considered to be the most effective.

Effect of 4-phenyl-1,3-dithia-2-thioxo-cyclopent-4-ene on liver injury induced by repeated exposure to galactosamine plus carbon tetrachloride in rats.

A hepatoprotective potential of DT827B was suggested under the conditions of these studies after a therapeutic effect against liver injury induced by D-GalN + CCl4 dose-dependently was suggested.

Effect of diisopropyl 1,3-dithiol-2-ylidenemalonate (NKK-105) on fatty liver induced by carbon tetrachloride.

The data suggest that NKK-105 exerts a curative effect on CCl4-induced fatty liver by improving the impaired protein synthesis and by promoting lipoprotein secretion.

Results suggest that the inactivation of P450IIE1 may be due to covalent binding of the heme to the protein or the modification of residues near theheme, which prevent substrate interaction.

[Effect of malotilate (diisopropyl 1, 3-dithiol-2-ylidenemalonate) on chronic liver injury caused by carbon tetrachloride].

It is difficult to explain the protective effect of malotilate on the liver injury only by this phenomenon, as changes of biochemical parameters and histopathological findings caused by CCl4 were improved thereafter.

Gene damage induced in human alveolar type II (L-132) cells by exposure to dimethylarsinic acid.

The results suggest the possibility of DNA-adduct formation at the early period of DMAA exposure in L-132 cells, which is sensitive to ultraviolet irradiation to cause strand breaks.
