  • Adrenal tissue of the coypu, Myocastor coypus was incubated with [4-14C] progesterone as precursor. Following paper and thin-layer chromatography and derivative formation, cortisol was identified as the major product, with lesser quantities of 11-deoxycortisol and 20\g=a\-hydroxy\x=req-\ pregn-4-en-3-one being formed.
