In vitro susceptibility of 185 penicillin-susceptible and -resistant pneumococci to WY-49605, a new oral penem, was compared with susceptibility to penicillin G, amoxicillin with and without clavulanate, cefixime, cefaclor, cefpodoxime, cefuroxime, and cefdinir.
