The adhesive interaction between the ectosymbionts of the corn cob configuration (CCC), a naturally occurring bacterial consortium in human dental plaque, was studied. In vitro association was produced in mixed cultures consisting ofBacterionema matruchotii and streptococci resemblingStreptococcus sanguis previously isolated from human CCC.
