Objective: The 12-week prospective, non-interventional study conducted in Indonesia aimed to evaluate the effectiveness and safety of a fixed combination of high-dose vitamin B1, B6 and B12 in subjects with peripheral neuropathy (PN) of various etiology. As PN is known to significantly impair patients’ quality of life (QoL), special attention has been paid to this aspect and QoL data were collected as secondary outcome parameters over time. Methods: The study enrolled subjects aged 18–65 years…

Management of peripheral neuropathy symptoms with a fixed dose combination of high-dose vitamin B1, B6 and B12: A 12-week prospective non-interventional study in Indonesia

TLDR
Treatment with combination of vitamin B1, B6 and B12 in subjects with symptoms of PN showed significant improvement in overall Total Symptom Score (TSS), within 14 days, and the Quality of Life (QoL) scores increased from baseline to the end of treatment.

Functional status mediates the association between peripheral neuropathy and health-related quality of life in individuals with diabetes

TLDR
Results from structural equation modelling showed that DPN had direct effects on HRQoL and indirect effects through FTSTS, body sway velocity, and ABC score, with χ2 = 8.075 (p =-0.044) and root mean square error of approximation =–0.103 (lower bound 0.015).

The health-related utility and health-related quality of life of hospital-treated subjects with type 1 or type 2 diabetes with particular reference to differing severity of peripheral neuropathy

TLDR
This study demonstrated that severity of DPN symptoms was predictive of poor health-related utility and decreased quality of life, and provides detailed utility data for economic evaluation of treatment of typical diabetes-related morbidity states.

Treatment of alcoholic polyneuropathy with vitamin B complex: a randomised controlled trial.

TLDR
A specific vitamin B complex (with and without folic acid) significantly improved symptoms of alcoholic polyneuropathy over a 12-week treatment period.

Treatment of symptomatic diabetic peripheral neuropathy with the anti-oxidant alpha-lipoic acid. A 3-week multicentre randomized controlled trial (ALADIN Study).

TLDR
It is substantiated that intravenous treatment with alpha-lipoic acid using a dose of 600 mg/day over 3 weeks is superior to placebo in reducing symptoms of diabetic peripheral neuropathy, without causing significant adverse reactions.
