The large natural variation existing in Brassica oleracea offers a promising approach to improving B. napus (rapeseed). However, the cytogenetic and genetic characterizations of the interspecific hybridization between B. napus and B. oleracea remain poorly understood. Here, the chromosome behavior of F1 triploid hybrids between B. napus and B. oleracea was observed.
