At the same time, European cities spend in the order of 5 billion € per year for wastewater network rehabilitation. This amount will increase significantly over the coming decades, due to network ageing, the combined effects of ageing infrastructure, urbanisation and climate change. The enormous value of the wastewater infrastructure, and the increasing need for rehabilitation, indicates a need for a more comprehensive system for management of rehabilitation operations.
