Knowledge of variations in the possible patterns of origin, course, and distribution of the lacrimal artery are necessary for the diagnosis and important for the treatment of orbital disorders. The vascularization of 38 lacrimal glands was studied by orbital dissection subsequent to injection of the arterial bed with red-dyed latex.
