BACKGROUND Tea catechins (EGCG, EGC, ECG and EC) possess many important biological properties. We evaluated the effect of tea catechins on erythrocyte membrane Na(+)/K(+)-ATPase and sodium/hydrogen exchanger (NHE) activity in normal (control) and NIDDM subjects.
