The period from 1870s and end of the 1910s can be called ‘the age of famines and epidemics’ in British India. In this period, the death toll from these epidemics was high. Similarly, the influenza pandemic of 1918-1919 known as the greatest medical holo-caust in history and counted the mother of all pandemics.
