An exploratory assessment of the impact of the September 11th attacks in New York City on drug users, including their perceptions of changes in drug use, drug availability, police activities, and access to services, was undertaken. Methods included focus groups with drug users and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) outreach worker supervisors and surveys of service providers.
