Twenty bacterial strains were examined on their ability to produce polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHA) from different carbon sources under rich and depleted nitrogen conditions. Preliminary experiments with glucose as sole carbon source allowed to select PHA producing bacteria using FTIR spectroscopy.
