OBJECTIVE Obliterative bronchiolitis is the predominant histopathologic finding in patients with chronic rejection after lung transplant. This fibroproliferative transformation within small airways of lung allograft is poorly understood; however, studies suggest epithelial-mesenchymal transition plays a role.
