A number of Plantago spp. especially P. major has long been used in the treatment of diseases such as infection, inflammation and cancer. In this study, we evaluated the immunomodulatory activities of five chemical classes of pure compounds obtained from the Plantago genus on human peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC). Studies were conducted on lymphocyte transformation by BrdU immunoassay and secretion of interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) using an ELISA assay. Results showed that the water…

Immunomodulatory properties of quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside from Rapanea melanophloeos against influenza a virus

This is the first report of quercetin-3-O-α-L-rhamnopyranoside from RM and its immunomodulatory properties against influenza A virus.

Linalool Exhibits Cytotoxic Effects by Activating Antitumor Immunity

Results showed that linalool holds great potential for use in cancer therapy, and it is believed that it could provide an alternative way to take action against tumors.

The phytochemical constituents of the citrus peels may exert biological activities including anticancer, immunostimulation and antigenotoxic potential.

EVALUATION OF IN VITRO IMMUNOMODULATORY EFFECTS OF SOYABEAN (GLYCINE MAX. L) EXTRACTS ON MOUSE IMMUNE SYSTEM

Both aqueous and acetone extracts presented immunomodulatory activity in peritoneal mouse macrophages, bone marrow cells and spleenocytes without clear dose response relationship, proving the need for confirmation through in-vitro phagocytic index and proliferation index.

Immunomodulatory effect of an isolated fraction from Tinospora crispa on intracellular expression of INF-γ, IL-6 and IL-8

The results of this study indicate that T. crispa has immunomodulatory effects through the stimulation of INF-γ, IL-6, and IL-8 expressions, which may be responsible for the immunostimulator effect of T. Crispa.
