The activities of TGF-beta s and their receptors (T beta R) in the articular cartilage have not been fully elucidated as yet. Temporal and spatial expression of TGF-beta s and their receptors were examined immunohistochemically in the articular cartilage of growing rats to clarify their role in chondrogenesis.
