PURPOSE OF REVIEW We summarize and discuss recent developments regarding the immunogenicity of human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) envelope glycoprotein (Env) oligomers, focusing, for the most part, on trimeric, recombinant protein immunogens.
