Ectonucleoside triphosphate diphosphohydrolases (E-NTPDases) are a family of membrane-bound enzymes that hydrolyze extracellular di- and triphosphate nucleosides. E-NTPDases have been proposed to control extracellular nucleotide levels that mediate intercellular communication by binding to specific membrane receptors.
