PURPOSE Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the major malignancies worldwide. For most patients with advanced or multifocal HCC treatment options are limited resulting in a poor prognosis. Several local ablation methods have been developed as minimally invasive strategies for HCC treatment.
