Photobacterium damselae subsp. piscicida (formerly Pasteurella piscicida) is the causative agent of pseudotuberculosis (also referred to as pasteurellosis), which is one of the most important diseases affecting the culture of gilt-head seabream (Sparus aurata) in the Mediterranean countries [1].
