ABSTRACT: Bibionidae are distributed worldwide; Penthetria is one genus in the family. Characteristics of the adult Penthetria japonica Wiedemann are well described in the literature. Here we describe for the first time the characteristics of the immature stages, including egg, mature larva, and pupa.
