Image cryptography using Discrete Haar Wavelet transform and Arnold Cat Map

Abstract

A lossless symmetric key encryption scheme is presented, which makes use of the Discrete Haar Wavelet Transform and the Arnold Cat Map. In the frequency domain, scaling, negation and coefficient swapping are done to increase robustness of the cipher image. In order to ensure better security and reliability, Arnold Cat Map is used for pixel scrambling. Performance analysis is performed on the encrypted image using security and statistical measures. The encrypted image is found to be highly random and decorrelated and will thus be resistant to attacks.
