Indoor positioning allows for many commercially viable applications, such as navigation, behavior and movement tracking, and augmented reality (AR). These applications all require the user’s location and orientation to be reliably estimated. Positioning is noticeably more challenging indoors than outdoors since GPS is typically unavailable in interior environments due to the shielding effect of structures.
