Idiopathic hypertrophic cranial pachymeningitis is a rare inflammatory disease with diffused involvement of the dura. Often, the definite diagnosis is made immediately with biopsy and the involved dura is removed surgically. Consequently, extensive preoperative imaging studies usually are not available.
