Losses of the p-arm of chromosome 8 are frequently observed in breast, prostate, and other types of cancers. Using the Systematic Multiplex RT-PCR (SM RT-PCR) method and the DNA microarray hybridization method, we examined the expression of 273 genes located on the p-arm of chromosome 8 in five breast and three prostate human cancer cell lines.
