Tumors are unorganized organs that contain many different cell types. In the recent years, many studies have reported that primary tumors contain fibroblasts/myofibroblasts (carcinoma-associated fibroblasts), mesenchymal cells such as pericytes/mural cells and other vascular smooth muscle cells.
