author={Peng Li and Xian-Feng Jiang and Bin Sun and Yubo Lin and Jie Yan and Kaiya Zhou},
In this study, an alpha-tubulin gene (EsTUBA, GenBank: KJ509188) was isolated and identified from the Chinese mitten crab Eriocheir sinensis. The EsTUBA mRNA expression patterns under larval brachyurization development and immune challenge stress by Vibrio parahaemolyticus injection in adult crabs were evaluated. EsTUBA cDNA was 1,695 base pairs (bp) with an open-reading frame of 1,356 bp encoding 451 amino acids (49.95 kDa) and containing GTPase domain and C-terminal Tubulin domain. Sequence… Expand

Identification, Characterization and Expression Patterns of Caspase-14 Gene from the Chinese Soft-Shelled Turtle Pelodiscus sinensis under Immune Challenge
Sequence alignment, phylogenetic analyses, and structure comparison revealed that PsCaspase-14 is a member of the Caspase family and might be involved in turtle antiviral immunity. Expand

It is found that EjsHSP90 is expressed throughout the three developmental stages but expression levels varied among different body parts of crabs, suggesting that HSP90 gene is involved in the crabs' early developmental process. Expand
Identification of Differentially Expressed Genes During the Brachyurization of the Chinese Mitten Crab Eriocheir japonica sinensis
Functional analysis shows that these ESTs obtained from two-directional suppression subtractive hybridization of cDNA libraries derived from the pleon of the Chinese mitten crab are putatively involved in various cellular processes, especially the regulation of brachyurization in this crab. Expand
Molecular cloning and characterization of a heat shock protein 70 gene in swimming crab (Portunus trituberculatus).
Using fluorescent real-time quantitative PCR, the transcriptional expression of PtHsp70 showed a clear time-dependent response after challenge by Vibrio alginolyticus, the main causative agent of emulsification disease causing large mortality in P. trituberculatus. Expand
Two novel Toll genes (EsToll1 and EsToll2) from Eriocheir sinensis are differentially induced by lipopolysaccharide, peptidoglycan and zymosan.
The study indicated that EsT Toll1 and EsToll2 are differentially inducibility in response to various PAMPs, suggesting their involvement in a specific innate immune recognition mechanism in E. sinensis. Expand
Two novel secreted ferritins involved in immune defense of Chinese mitten crab Eriocheir sinensis.
The results suggest that secreted EsFer-1 and Es Fer-2 are crucial proteins in the iron-withholding defense system, and play important roles in the innate immune responses in crabs. Expand
Alpha tubulin genes from Leishmania braziliensis: genomic organization, gene structure and insights on their expression
It is determined that the levels of α-tubulin mRNAs are down-regulated drastically in response to heat shock by a post-transcriptional mechanism which is dependent upon active protein synthesis. Expand
The cloning and expression of α‐tubulin in Monochamus alternatus
The Japanese pine sawyer Monochamus alternatus is one of the major forest pests and its sequence characters are consistent with what have been reported in other insects; the alignment of proteins showed that there is high homology of α‐tubulin between M. alternatus and other species. Expand
Differential expansion and expression of alpha- and beta-tubulin gene families in Populus.
The high degree of sequence diversity, differential expansion, and differential regulation of Populus TUA and TUB families may confer flexibility in cell wall formation that is of adaptive significance to the woody perennial growth habit. Expand
Function of two novel single-CRD containing C-type lectins in innate immunity from Eriocheir sinensis.
Results suggest thatEsCTL1 and EsCTL2 may have important roles in the anti-bacterial immunity of Chinese mitten crab. Expand
Immunocytochemical localization of actin and tubulin in the integument of land crab (Gecarcinus lateralis) and lobster (Homarus americanus).
The immunocytochemistry of land crab and lobster integument showed that both proteins were localized in various cell types, including epithelia, connective tissue, tendinal cells, and blood vessels, suggesting that they may serve both intracellular and extracellular functions in crustaceans. Expand
