To identify a novel type II classical cadherin, we searched the genome database and found rat cadherin19 (cad19) with high similarity to human cadherin19. We also found nucleotide sequences corresponding to rat cad19 in mouse and chicken genomes. In situ hybridization of rat cad19 revealed that rat cad19 mRNA was initially expressed in cephalic neural crest cells, and then in the cranial ganglia, migrating trunk neural crest cells, the nascent dorsal root ganglia, and the sympathetic ganglia… CONTINUE READING
