The cell-cycle specific cDNAs were isolated from a cDNA library prepared from cells in the S phase in the synchronous cultures of Catharanthus roseus. One of the isolated genes, which we refer to as cyc07, was analyzed in detail. The full-length cDNA of cyc07 contains an open reading frame of 735 nucleotides, encoding a protein of 245 amino acids with a molecular weight of 28,356 Da.
