In this paper, a novel iterative algorithm for the identification of a nonlinear Hammerstein system is presented. The proposed algorithm is based on the separable least square (SLS) estimation and orthonormal basis functions. The linear part of the Hammerstein cascade system is represented by Orthonormal Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter, and the static nonlinear part is represente d by cubic spline function.
