In a search for candidate tumor suppressor genes within a 30-kb common region of deletion previously identified in bladder cancer cell lines, we isolated a 2.4-kb cDNA clone comprising 13 exons that spanned approximately 16 kb of genomic DNA. Mutation analysis was carried out by single-strand conformation polymorphism analysis on DNA from 12 bladder carcinoma cell lines and 26 bladder tumors with LOH on chromosome 4p.
