Abstract Pepsin-solubilized collagens prepared from ordinary muscle and skin tissues of the Japanese flounder ( Paralichthys olivaceus ) were separated into two fractions, major and minor, by ammonium sulfate precipitation. Collagens in these fractions were further purified by cation-exchange column chromatography.
