A new species, Tanychora loki, sp. nov., and a new genus and species, Megachora sibirica gen. et sp. nov., are described from the Lower Cretaceous of Transbaikalia and Mongolia. The genus Tanychora Townes, 1973 is divided into two genera: Tanychora s. str., composed of T. petiolata Townes, 1973 (type species), T. sinensis Zhang, 1991, and T. loki sp. nov., and Amplicella, gen. nov., composed of A. sessilis (Townes, 1973) (type species), A. exquisite (Zhang et Rasnitsyn, 2003), A. beipiaoensis…

A new subfamily of ichneumon wasps (Insecta: Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae) from the Upper Cretaceous of the Russian Far East

A new subfamily of ichneumon wasps, Labenopimplinae subfam. nov. (Ichneumonidae), is described from the Cenomanian Ola Formation of the locality Obeshchayushchiy, Magadan Region, Russian Far East.

Ichneumon wasps of the Khasurty locality in Transbaikalia (Insecta, Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae)

One new genus and four new species of ichneumon wasps are described from the Lower Cretaceous of Buryatia (Khasurty locality) and similarity of the faunas of Khasurty and the Chinese localities Yixian and Laiyang indicates the age similarity between these localities.

Seven remarkable new fossil species of parasitoid wasps (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae) from the Eocene Messel Pit

Seven new ichneumonid fossil species and two new genera from a remarkable insect fossil site, the Eocene Messel Pit in Germany are described, demonstrating the need for a more rigorous approach in the taxonomic placement of fossil ich pneumonid genera and subfamilies.

Darwin wasps (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae) in Lower Eocene amber from the Paris basin

Two new ichneumonid genera and species are described and the placement of Palaeometopius eocenicus is revised, a highly important addition to the early Palaeogene fossil record of Ichneumonidae that otherwise mainly consists of compression fossils, which yield far less detail of the specimens’ morphology than amber pieces.

Ichneumonid parasitoid wasps from the Early Eocene Green River Formation: five new species and a revision of the known fauna (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae)

Two new fossil genera and five new species of Ichneumonidae from the Eocene Green River Formation are described and the importance of careful taxonomic placement of fossils and difficulties in ichneumonid palaeontology caused by host-related homoplasies and a lack of knowledge about the age of the recent subfamilies are discussed.

Ichneumonidae (Insecta: Hymenoptera) in Canadian Late Cretaceous amber

The records of Labeninae are the first from Mesozoic amber, and demonstrate that the subfamily was present in the Northern Hemisphere in the Late Cretaceous, as opposed to their modern, predominantly austral distribution.

New Ichneumonidae (Hymenoptera) from the Upper Cretaceous ambers of the Taimyr Peninsula

Two new genera and four new species of Ichneumonidae are described from the Upper Cretaceous ambers of the Taimyr Peninsula, and the genera Catachora, Urotryphon, and Eubaeus are transferred to the subfamily Labenopimplinae.

New species of Praeichneumonidae (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonoidea) from the Lower Cretaceous of Transbaikalia

Rudiments of the second anal vein A2 and internal vein a1–a2 and bullae in crossveins of the fore- and hindwing are described in Praeichneumonidae for the first time.

A new subfamily of ichneumonids from the Lower Cretaceous of Transbaikalia and Mongolia (Insecta: Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae)

A new subfamily of ichneumonids is described from the Lower Cretaceous of Transbaikalia and Mongolia, intermediate between the archaic subfamily Tanychorinae and the Recent Ichneumonidae.

Morphological, palaeontological and molecular aspects of ichneumonoid phylogeny (Hymenoptera, Insecta)

Ichneumonoid phylogeny is revised on the basis of morphological, palaeontological and molecular evidence, and several new character systems are investigated, including the first formal cladistic study of the phylogeny of the families of the superfamily Ichneumonoidea.

History of Insects

This work aims to provide a history of insect fossils dating back to the Carboniferous period through to the present day with a focus on the period from 1758 to 1800.
