Iatrogenic intubation injuries of the upper gastrointestinal tract in adults

Abstract

Perforation of the hypopharynx, esophagus, and stomach complicated the insertion of flexible tubes in 11 adults. Nasogastric suction tubes were responsible for 5 instances of gastric perforation.
