  • ABSTRACT Vinca rosea is a perennial shrub of the Apocynacae family used as an ornamental shrub as well as medicinal herb. One of the therapeutic approaches for preventing diabetes mellitus type 2 is to retard the absorption of glucose via inhibition of α-glucosidases viz. glucoamylase and α-amylase. In the present study, fatty acids methyl esters (FAMEs) are isolated from the seeds of Vinca rosea ethanol extract.
