SummaryCharacteristic i.r.-absorption bands are recorded for fourteen C-6 substituted 4-methoxy-α-pyrones. Two naturally occuring groups, the 5,6-dihydropyrones and the unhydrogenated analogues are easily differentiated by a strong absorption band at 1560±10 cm−1. As a model substance the hitherto unknown compound 4-methoxy-6-methyl-5,6-dihydro-pyrone-2 has been prepared by catalytic hydrogenation of 4-methoxy-6-methyl-pyrone-2 (“methyltriacetic acid lactone”).ZusammenfassungDie für… CONTINUE READING
