Structural properties and antibacterial effects of hydrophobic and oleophobic sol-gel coatings for cotton fabrics.

The results revealed the tendency of PFOTES to condense in octameric silsesquioxane polyhedra (T8), coexisting in the PDMSU sol-gel network with cyclic tetramers and open cube-like species (T7(OH)3).

INVESTIGATION OF IMPACT OF CROSSLINKING AGENTS ON CHARACTERISTICS OF SPATIAL NET AND PROPERTIES OF STYRENE-ACRYLIC POLYMER FILMS

The influence of crosslinking agents on the characteristics and properties of films from aqueous dispersions of styrene-acrylic polymers Lacritex 309, 430 and 640 was studied in order to obtain

Study on Preparation and Surface Properties of Fluorinated Acrylate Hydrophobic Polymer Film

A new fluorinated acrylate terpolymer hydrophobic polymer was prepared by emulsifier-free inverse microemulsion polymerization using methyl methacrylate (MMA) and hexafluorobutyl acrylate (HFBA) as

Inorganic/Organic Polymer Coatings for Textiles to Realize Water Repellent and Antimicrobial Properties—A Study with Respect to Textile Comfort

SiO2 coatings and inorganic/organic polymer hybrid coatings were applied onto textiles, and the textile properties were investigated with respect to parameters of textile comfort as stiffness, water

Antimicrobial Approaches for Textiles: From Research to Market

This review mainly intends to provide an overview of antimicrobial agents and treatments that can be performed to produce antimicrobial textiles, using chemical or physical approaches, which are under development or already commercially available in the form of isolated agents or textile fibers or fabrics.

A mathematical modeling of crosslinking between components of a polymer composition

The paper presents a method of mathematical modeling as a most promising way to determine the structural parameters of the polymer network. In polymer systems, modeling is developed in different

Water vapor permeability and mechanical properties of fabrics coated with shape‐memory polyurethane

Water vapor permeable fabrics were prepared by coating shape-memory polyurethane (PU), which was synthesized from poly(tetramethylene glycol), 4,4'-methylene bis(phenylisocyanate), and

Recent Advances in Antimicrobial Treatments of Textiles

The growth of microbes on textiles during use and storage negatively affects the wearer as well as the textile itself. The detrimental effects can be controlled by durable antimicrobial finishing of

Flame Retardancy of Polyester and Polyester–Cotton Blends Treated with Caseins

For the first time, polyester and polyester–cotton fabrics have been treated with an aqueous suspension of caseins to increase their thermal stability and flame retardancy. The effectiveness of the
