III-V device technologies for lightwave applications

Abstract
High-performance, reliable III-V devices are a basic part of AT&Ts lightwave transmission systems. This paper describes advances in lasers, photodetectors, optical amplifiers, superlattice devices, monolithically integrated structures, and switching devices and their role in AT&T lightwave systems.
