Hyperbranched polymers based on a polyether and polyester have been modified and used as macromolecular ligands for the anticancer drug cisplatin, giving controlled release of the drug over 7 days.
Beyond chemotherapeutics: cisplatin as a temporary buckle to fabricate drug-loaded nanogels.
TLDR
A cisplatin templated nanogel with targeting capability was synthesized, inspired by cisplarin as a chemotherapeutic drug, and could be removed by simple dialysis in a salt solution while the withheld drug remains entrapped.
Preparation and characterization of hyperbranched polyester conjugate of ciprofloxacin and its in vitro drug release studies
TLDR
Using ciprofloxacin hydrochloride drug as a model drug, the interaction between the drug and hyperbranched polyester with OH functionality was studied to understand the nature of transport of drug containing solution through the polymeric material.
Tuning the thermoresponsive properties of hyperbranched poly(ester amide)s based on diisopropanolamine and cyclic dicarboxylic anhydrides

Block copolymer micelles with pendant bifunctional chelator for platinum drugs: effect of spacer length on the viability of tumor cells.
TLDR
The clonogenic assay revealed that micelles loaded with platinum drugs have not only better activity within the frame of a 72 h cell viability study, but also display a longer lasting effect by preventing the colony formation A549 for more than 10 days.
Latest Biomedical Applications of Hyperbranched Polymers: Part 1: As Delivery Vehicle
TLDR
Among all the polymers, hyperbranched polymers are considered as an ideal matrix for drug and gene delivery vehicles because of its tailorable architecture and availability of plenty of functional groups.
Hyperbranched polyamidoamines containing beta-cyclodextrin for controlled release of chlorambucil.
TLDR
The controlled-release experiments show that the presence of beta-CD can appropriately slow the release of CLB from HPMA-beta-CDs and adjust the ratio ofCLB released in total drug loading.
Aggregation Processes in Hybrid Nanosystem Polymer/Nanosilver/Cisplatin
Hybrid nanosystems consisting of star-like copolymer Dextran-graft-Polyacrylamide in the anionic form (D-g-PAA(PE)), silver nanoparticles (AgNPs), and cisplatin (cis-Pt) have been synthesized in

TLDR
It was found that PEG chains attached at the surface of these hyperbranched polymers, in addition to their well-established protective role, enhance the encapsulation efficiency of the polymers.
Biocompatibility testing of branched and linear polyglycidol.
TLDR
Hyperbranched polyglycidols were found to be well tolerated by mice even when injected in high doses, and compared with some of the common biocompatible polymers already in human use.
